derivative living
i spent six hours today painting. it was a really difficult experience.
this morning, quinn came home from school depressed because he processed negatives that fell short of his expectations. i told him that failure was part of the growing process.
at 10:30pm, when my painting failed, i didn't believe my own advice. the self is an ironic being.

Sorry you both had bum days yesterday....you really should believe your own advice though. Don't be too hard on yourself. You both are so talented, you just have to keep going, keep doing what you do and you'll bounce back in no time. I love you! Call me and we'll talk Franksgiving. Can't wait to see you!
Painting six hours is great, it makes you a better painter regardless of the outcome. When Mandy and I get the dough we want to come see you two.
