a quick update.

i read the Wikipedia article on Memorial Day and learned a lot of interesting facts that have previously eluded me (the birthplace of memorial day is waterloo, ny; the holiday was first observed as a tribute to union soldiers; it was previously called "decoration day"; it was first celebrated in 1865 by freed slaves at a Confederate prison camp who dug up and reinterred Union soldiers.)

I lived in Waterloo for 8 years. There's a huge parade every year.
